Much disappointment awaited the fans who turned up for the start of the Bangalore 'A' and Super Division leagues on day 1, 19th March 2012. There was a protest by the referees against the Football Association owing to some internal problems. The Super Division teams, KGF Academy and CIL came out, warmed up and went inside the tunnel all expecting to kick start the new season. There was an air of uncertainty as to whether the game shall start or not. The official announcement that was aired few minutes later stating that the match shall be rescheduled to another day.

Bangalore Super Division League 2012

A fresh start to the old rivalries and new ambitions for the top football teams of Bangalore awaits as the first match between KGF Academy (BEML) and CIL kicks off at 3 PM on 19th March 2012 at the Bangalore Football Stadium. With the downsizing of the league from 12 teams to 10, the quality is sure to increase with only the top players finding spots in the Super Division teams.
Some decent investments have been made in likes of CIL , ADE, Postal and the community driven Students Union FC. While the senior and ex players have pooled in money to pay the players at CIL , Postal have recruited players giving them employment, ADE have decided to pay a decent sum of money to the players and the most impressive of them all, the closest thing to a football community in Bangalore, Students Union have raised money from the supporters of the club.
ADE have been relatively quiet in the pre-season. Postal played a practice match with BUFC and came out victors 1-0. This will boost their confidence. They have a very experienced line up for the season ahead and we should not be surprised if they pull a rabbit out of the hat.
CIL have been blessed by the return of  India U-16 coach Thomas Joseph who had a break from the AIFF camp. The last time Thomas coached the side, CIL came up with excellent results against MEG and BEML.
KSP have been practicing quite rigorously with a largely unchanged lined up.
The army clubs ASC and MEG have been busy hosting practice matches at their turfed pitches. These two teams, as always will be contenders for top 3 spots.
A major breakthrough in Bangalore Football has been achieved by KGF Academy in satisfying the AFC Club Licencing criteria. HAL, as always start favorites to win the title while MEG will be fresh from having good match practice on the back of E K Nayanar Memorial Gold Cup Tournament.
HAL BEML MEG are the contenders at the top while CIL BEL Students Union and ADE are most likely to fight the relegation battle.

20th March 2012:
HAL vs BEL : HAL dominated possession and played the waiting game for most of the first half. Inevitably, it was BEL that cracked, 2 headers and one clinical move to round off a 3-0 victory. HAL looked very composed on the day.
